AT THE SHOWS...
We did manage to get some of the horses to a couple of the Arabian Shows held here at the Princess Louise Park. Coaching from the porch to try and get kids and horses ready for the show ring is no easy feat…believe me! However, the kids did very well with Rebekah Rouse on “Diamond Lieja” winning a reserve year end award in two divisions: Adult Amateur Hunter and Arabian Hunter Pleasure Open.
Nikki Ackerman on “Rose of Safir” managed to capture year end awards in two divisions also; Road Hack Open Champion and Hunter Pleasure Open Champion. Both of these riders and horses were relative new comers to the show ring…Congrats, Girls!
Natalie Worth rode both “Ben-Adhem Shafira” and “Ben-Adhem Knight Melody” in the Arabian Shows in 2008, and earned an Adult Amateur Hunter Pleasure Reserve Championship. Way to go, Nat!
Ben-Adhem Arabians also had one of their Quarter Horse mares, “Nics Dixie Chex” out on the Reining Show Circuit in 2008, and with her “sizzling” run of 73.5 in September, she earned the title of Novice Horse Champion for the NB Codiac Reining Association. This mare will be bred to our own ROM Quarter Horse Reining Stallion, “ Solanos Yuba Lena” in 2009. Dixie is a direct daughter of “Reminic”.
Coralie Doiron and her Quarter Horse mare, “Kilo Little Star” did very well on the Reining Circuit winning year end awards in both the Novice and Youth Divisions of the NB Codiac Reining Association. Way to Go, Coralie!
Congratulations also go out to Linda and Wally Lemmon on their many placings with their two Morgan mares, “Wavaly's Victoria” and “Linwal Vanity Fair”. “Linwal Vanity Fair” is a halter horse supreme, while “ Wavaly's Victoria” does very well in harness. Looking forward to 2009!
Congratulations also go out to Jennifer Scobie and her Morgan mare, “The Real McCoy”. This pair has done very well this past year winning several awards from both the Canadian Morgan Horse Association and Equine Canada. Jennifer and “McCoy” won the Champion English General Purpose and a Reserve Championship in the Hunter Pleasure Division for the Atlantic Zone. In addition this pair received Reserve Championships in Open Hack, Hunter Pleasure, and Adult Amateur Divisions for the Equine Canada New Brunswick Morgan Awards.
Once again Lex Younker played a major role in keeping the show horses ready for the ring. Lex plans on entering the show ring herself for the first time in 2009 riding the black Arabian mare, “Ben-Adhem Tulani”.
